As we know, there was a lot going on last week in Las Vegas and one of those events was a live extreme overclocking event on Saturday 10th, arranged by Xtremesystems. During the event, AMD Phenom II processors (an integral part of the Dragon platform) were cooled with liquid helium to temperatures as low as -242 degrees Celsius (at idle). This allowed a record breaking 3DMark05 run to be made, with the CPU running at a blistering 6.3GHz; the resulting score: 44,474. The first live display of liquid helium cooling also allowed a CPU-Z frequency of 6.435GHz to be recorded, the highest for a quad-core x86 CPU.
